20TH ANNUAL SEASON SCHEDULE

2023 - 2024

  • August 17, 2023,  August Serenade concert. 7:00 p.m. at Hope Lutheran church in Ossineke, 5462 W. Nicholson Hill Rd.
    Please join us for our “August Serenade” concert  in a lovely air-conditioned venue where you can enjoy a variety of music performed by members of the Alpena String School, string players from the ASO and flute music performed by MaryAnn Hubbard. Highlights for the strings will include "Serenade for Strings" by Edward Elgar, and "The Storm at Sea" Concerto for violin and orchestra by Antonio Vivaldi, performed by Eric Lawson.
    There is no charge for this concert.  Donations are always gratefully appreciated and the ASO, and its affiliates are all non-profit, 501(c)(3) organizations.  This is a wonderful way to “cool off” and enjoy some up-lifting music.

  • November 5, 2023 “Autumn Serenade” concert performed by members of the Alpena Symphony Orchestra on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at 4:00 p.m.  Soloists and ensembles affiliated with the ASO will perform a variety of music to delight the audience on a fall afternoon.  This concert will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Alpena, 167 South Ripley Blvd. There is no admission charge for this concert, but donations are always appreciated.  The ASO is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization.  A reception will follow the performance in the social hall.

  • December 2, 2023,  Holiday concert.  7:30 p.m. at Alpena High School auditorium. Plan to attend the annual Holiday Celebration concert on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 7:30 PM.  This performance will be held at the Alpena High School Auditorium located at 3303 South Third Avenue, Alpena.  This will be a traditional, holiday pops program with maestro Jim VanEizenga conducting the ASO.  Jim VanEizenga is the director of orchestras for Novi High School in Novi, MI.  Spring into the holiday spirit by listening to this up-lifting orchestral music!  Hope to see you there!The admission charge for this concert is $15.00 for adults with students and children admitted free.  The ASO is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization.  A reception will follow the concert in the lobby.  Contact Andrea Arbuckle at 989-464-9586 for more information.
     

  • December 17, 2023 “Holiday Serenade” concert performed by members of the Alpena Symphony Orchestra on Sunday, December 17  4:00 pm at Hope Lutheran Church in Hubbard Lake.  Soloists and ensembles affiliated with the ASO will perform a variety of music to delight the audience on a crisp winter day.  There is no admission charge for this concert, but donations are always appreciated.  The ASO is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization.  A reception will follow the performance in the social hall.
      

  • May 4 , 2024 Spring concert,  7:30 p.m. at Alpena High School auditorium.
    More concert detail to follow.  Please remember to mark your calendars.
    The ASO is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization.  There will be a reception in the high school lobby following the performance.  Tickets are $15.00 for adults.  Students and children free. Tickets are available at the door.
     
     
     

Serenade concerts are free, donations are gladly accepted.

All other concerts are $15 for adults; children and students are free.
